All newly elected Representatives will begin their 3 year term following Installation of Officer Ceremonies at the Local 1299 General Membership Meeting on Wednesday May 23, 2012 beginning at 4:30 PM.  The meeting will be held at Local 1299’s F.D.R. Memorial Hall located at 11424 W. Jefferson Ave. River Rouge, Michigan 48218.

• Contract Negotiations between the United Steelworkers and United States Steel Corporation will begin with a Kick-Off the week of June 4-8, 2012 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

            USW International Vice President of Administration Thomas Conway will be Chief Negotiator for the USW.  Mr. Conway will be supported by Negotiating Teams from     across the country including Local 1299 during these important talks.

            Local 1299 members are encouraged to continue to forward issues to Local 1299     Representatives for review and preparation.  The current contract expires on        September 1, 2012.
