·         Labor Day Weekend brings with it many opportunities for members of USW Local 1299 and their families to participate in the National Holiday designed to recognize the invaluable contributions of workers.

Among the events:

Ø  Monday September 6, 2010 7:30 AM Labor Day Morning, raising of USA and USW flags @ USW Local 1299 Franklin Delano Roosevelt Memorial Hall, 11424 W. Jefferson Ave. R.R. Michigan 48218.

Ø  Monday September 6, 2010 9:00 AM, Detroit Labor Day Parade, “Turn Around America-Good Jobs Now”, steelworkers to gather on Woodward Ave. between Alexandrine and Selden Streets.

Ø  Saturday September 4, 2010 12 noon, River Rouge Days, Parade.  West Jefferson Ave., marchers to gather at Marion Avenue.

Ø  Saturday September 4, 2010 10 AM-10 PM, Monroe/Lenawee County AFL-CIO Central Labor Council Labor Day Celebration.  Phillip Murray Bldg. 41 W. Front Street, Monroe, Michigan 48161.

·         Local 1299 invites and encourages all members, retirees, families and friends to partake and enjoy the Labor Heritage activities as much and as Safely as possible.
